Who We Are
We are a dedicated group of passionate artists and art supporters in south-central Wisconsin who work to promote the visual arts through education, outreach, and art events. Our juried members create and exhibit fine and functional art in a variety of mediums.
History
14 South Artists, Inc. was formed in 2004 by a small group of dedicated artists living south of Madison along the Highway 14 corridor. They were seeking creative ways to network and collectively promote their independent work. A fall art tour of their dispersed studios and workshops became the annual showcase event. Today 14 South Artists engages in a variety of art exhibits and events and has grown to 50+ members, with many residing outside the original area into metro Madison and beyond.
Our Mission
The mission of 14 South Artists, Inc. is to promote social welfare by promoting the visual arts in the communities of South-Central Wisconsin, including:
-
opportunities for artists to present their art to the public
-
meaningful interactions between artists, art supporters, and the general public
-
educational opportunities for artist’s self-improvement
-
community outreach in South-Central Wisconsin to quality art
-
public education about local art and artists.
