In the tradition of Pop Art, my work pulls images from comics, newspaper, adult entertainment and pop culture. Images are collage together to create texture and backgrounds, printed (using silkscreen techniques) on hand painted boards or paper. The overlapping layers of image forces the viewer to actually look and examine the work My comic book characters confront the heartache and loneliness of relationships and the cruel cruel world of love.  Whereas, the Iconic pop art portraits follow in the footsteps of Andy Warhol and pop artist from the past.

Printmaking

Growing up on dairy farm in the small town of Marshall, there wasn’t much company out in the empty country.  I would past my days watching television, reading comic books and Rolling Stone Magazine. It’s no surprise how my work is a reflection of  my childhood fantasies of life off the farm.

I attended Carroll College, receiving a degree in art education k-12, followed by Cardinal Stricth University with a masters degree in visual studies.  Taught in the public school system for seven years, currently teaching children’s art through Rhapsody Arts Center Gallery in Verona the last three years.
