Your pet is your friend, companion, and family member with a personality all their own.

Every sketch I create is an exquisite, one-of-a-kind illustration, rendered from an original photo. I choose to create my pet sketches using colored pencils because it allows me to be very detailed in my work.

When drawing a pet, I try to capture almost every hair, feather, scale or wrinkle of the pet. Doing this creates a sketch that is quite realistic and expressive. I always begin my sketches with the eyes. This allows me to really connect with the pet that I am representing. I’ve been known to talk to my sketches as they come to life in my drawing. Maybe this is one reason they become so real, because they are so real to me. So when I am fortunate enough to meet the pet in person, it’s like meeting an old friend.

My intent in creating a finely precise custom pet sketch is that each one brings a smile and a wonderful memory to the people who view the sketch. Pets are our angels on Earth, and maybe my sketches will help us keep them in our hearts forever.

All my original pet portraits are sketched on 9"x12" acid free paper, preserved to prevent fading, beautifully matted, and ready for any 11”x14” frame. I also create original signed reproductions.  In addition, I offer a few special gift items such as note cards and mouse pads that are made using digitized images of my original works.

Whether given as a gift to mark a special occasion, or as a way to preserve a precious moment, I hope my illustrations will always be considered a special work of art for those who love their pets.
