MARY CUFF
2010
The motivation for my work is to reflect my love and appreciation of nature as found in florals, landscapes, water and rocks. My goal as an artist is to convey these feelings in my work. I use my personal experiences as springboards of inspiration to reveal the beauty of shape and color I find in realistic and abstract compositions.

Artist Statement
Art was my area of concentration at the University of Wisconsin while pursuing my degree in elementary education and art was a part of my teaching curriculum. After I retired from the classroom I was determined to pursue my passion of painting.
In recent years I have taken workshops with several watercolor artists;
Linda Baker, Mary Ann Bechwith,Karlyn Holman, Bonnie Breitzman, Dianne Maxey, Catherine Wilson Smith, Lennox Wallace, Susan Webb Tregay, Susan Conner, Jan Fabian Wallake, Bridget Austin, Ritandra Das, John Salminen, Janet Rogers, Mary Ann Inmann, and Helen Kleibelsadel.
In addition to my membership in 14 South Artists, I have been a member of the Madison Watercolor Society since 2002 and currently serve as the workshop chairman of that organization. We regularly have shows in Madison and have exhibited at University Hospital, Olbrich Gardens and The Overture Center. I am also a member of the Wisconsin Regional Artist's Association and have participated in shows through- out the region.
