Visit the artists in their studios! - Now in its seventh year, the 14 South Artists - Fall Studio Art Tour has become one of Wisconsin's most popular studio art tours. This year, the tour features over 30 artists, in several historic communities, and represents almost every imaginable visual art medium. This is a rare opportunity to meet the artists in their studios, learn what they do, how and why they do it... and all while enjoying a beautiful fall drive through some of south central Wisconsin's most scenic areas. If you're wondering where to find that truly unique, one-of-a-kind meaningful gift... you'll never get a better chance than right now!

Meet award winning artists! - One of the tour goals is to increase awareness for the caliber of talent hiding in our quiet little towns. Some of the artists are full-time professionals with galleries all around the county. Right here, in our own backyard, we have some of the finest talent in the state of Wisconsin. You'll meet award winning potters like Matthias James who won Best Of Ceramics at Art Fair Off The Square and at the Spring Green Art Show. Jewelry artists like Lynn Gifford will demonstrate how she makes one-of-a-kind creations using beads, semi-precious stones, wire wrapping and Precious Metal Clay (PMC). Visit Paoli to learn about about glass blowing from Scott Simmons at Sunrise Glassworks, and Laura Timmons to see how she twists colorful polymers into pattern clay pieces to make unique wearable art.

Many of the artists featured on the tour exhibit at premiere venues like Art Fair On The Square, Art Fair Off The Square, The Winter Art Festival, Olbrich Botanical Gardens, and even the Overture Center. The tour features almost every imaginable medium including oil, acrylic and watercolor painters, pastels, digital painting, photography, pottery, metal sculpture, blown glass, stained glass, fused glass, woodworking, jewelry, fiber arts and clay masks. Most artists actively participate in local, regional, and national shows and many have won 'best of show' awards in their categories. Many of the artists do private commissions for individuals, businesses or public art projects. Some also teach art privately or at schools and colleges.

Easy to find, just follow the signs! - Whether you're coming from Madison, Milwaukee, Chicago, or someplace in-between, you'll find a convenient place to tap into the tour. Maps are available in the 14 South Artists event newspaper that you will find at any of our Headquarters, and on this website. To make it even easier, roadside arrows will help mark the way to each artist's front door. A short country drive will take you from one town to the next, and you can even stop in at artists studios along the way.

The Historic Art Tour towns start less than 10 minutes from Madison, WI, and have been geographically grouped into tour areas (Oregon Area, Stoughton Area, Evansville Area, Fitchburg Area) with a Tour Headquarters for each area. These headquarter locations can provide more information, maps, or detailed directions to the artists in their area.
